Trends in Education During Challenging Economic Times

Link: http://www.roccobasile.net

As if the economic times are not challenging enough, the global population of students continues to grow, and the educational systems must change too. Plus, a weak U.S labor market and increased unemployment has increased the number of adultsatending school to improve their skills, or change vocations.

In a recent study rom the National Center for Education Statistics 19.1  million students entered two and four-year colleges and universities in the fall of 2010.  This was an increase of  3.8 million since the same time of year in 2000.

It was 1997 when accelerated degree programs came to be. however, these have gained popularity. Basically these programs target older, non-traditional and sometimes working  students.
